Long Term Memory like a file in a computer or books in a library.
LTM has two types :
1.Prosedural is memory of doing something, such as making a cake. It has temporary memory , its like key moment in our life, first of all episodic memory, its like we watching episodic from LTM. For example, holy communion, how I became a caveman or lovely brother's wedding.
2.Declavative - semantic memory is memory of knowlege such as everything we learn at school. Another example is play "Who wants to be a millioner?"

If we really want to know what we eat , the answer right in front of us. Its on a side at the label with a list of nutrition and ingredients. Sometimes it complecated.
How to read a food label ? The label has 3 areas. Lets start from the top : Serving Size- 1 container.
2.5 serving per container
100*2.5= 250 Caloriesries
45*2.5=90 mg Sodium
26*2.5=52 gr Carbs
26*2.5=52 gr sugar
At the middle: Percent Daily Value(% DV)-guide every person need 2,000 calories a day. According to gaid line: 60% from Carbohydrates
50% from Protein
30% from fat( less than three grams of fat for every 100 calories)
If we eat 2,000 calories a day-less than 600 calories from fat.
If 5% or less-low
10% to 19%-good
20% or more -excellent
Cholesterol should be less than 300 mg total.
Sodium less than 2,400 mg.
Fiber 25 to 30 gr a day
Calcium at least 1,000 mg daily
Bottom in the label:
Ingredients lists dives us a information wich product is healtier.
As my opinion, it was very interesting to know how to chose the proper food. I know, that i need to read and compare food labels, check serving size and check the percentage DV.
Vocabulary:

Sodium-(n) a silver-white metal that produces salt when mixed with chlorine.
Cholesterol-(n) a substance in your body which doctors think may cause heart disease.

Sarah Palin spent her last full day as governor of Alaska at a picnic in Anchorage. The reporter Norah O' Donnell from Fairbanks,Alaska said:" sarah Palin will no longer be governor of this great State. She desided to give up her powerful purch, but for what is not clear". She was wearing all day a red-blue-white t-shirt wich said "once patriot-always patriot". All people are dissapointed about this. What next for Palin? Will she run for President? it is not clear!!!


I've heard about her a lot, that is why i wanted to know smt knew about her. It is too sad that she is leaving her post so earlie. I can see that she is very valuable person.

Choking on Growth.
Chinese environmentalist was warking to save the polluted Lake Tai's was jailed.
Lake Tai's located about 100 miles west to Shanghai. The simbol of China is beauty. The sellsmen who was turned to environmentalist because of the witnessed around his village. In August, 2007 Wu Lihong was put on trail. He was charged with blackmail relating to the sale of pollution-control equipment. Wu Lihong took the pollution issue to the top. He would ride his motocicle to observe pollution. He found the poluttered factory; the factory wa s shut down in 1999. Wu Lihong was a good for people. A lot of people were angry about pollution near the village. Local goverment were dishonest about this, they said that it's 100% clear.
A lot of chinese feel pity about what happening. Every year its getting worth. The local river offen black or another color; the water much more polluted. He went to Benjing to the enviromental agency . Aftere that the Lihong's family strated receive a strange calls. Someone throw the rocks to the window. He was bitten by the chemical workers. Then, they arrsted him without procced; they took him illegal. He was charged for two counts:1) blackmail, and the 2) a payment was made to him by local agency. They using him influence as enviromentalist activist to extore money. They did not deal with evidence. this procceding should be public trail, but they did not let go in the relatives or anybody. His verdit is, he was found guilty. He has to stay in prizon 3 years.
I chose this topic because i was wondering about what is going on aroun the world, in my case in China. I know that many factories on the China, and it was interesting how they solve the pollution problems. I was not suprise that the local goverment takes the money from the factorie's owners. The same problem with corruptions i have in my country.

Task 2 - Twiligh (Movie)

The movie version of the romantic vampire story " Twilight" is one of the most highly release in the fall 2008.
Isabella Swan moves to gloomy Forks to live with her father. As she starts her junior year in high school she becomes fascinated by Edward Cullen who holds a dark secret which is only known by his family. Edward falls in love with Bella as well but knows the further they progress in their relationship the more he is putting Bella and those close to her at risk. Edward warns Bella that she should leave him but she refuses to listen and to understand why he is saying this. Bella learns his secret. He is a vampire, however she is not afraid of his blood-thirsty needs and the fact he could kill her at any moment. Bella is afraid of losing him, the love of her life. The thrill begins when a new vampire finds it a challenge to hunt Bella down for her irresistible blood. The game is on and James will not stop until she is killed.

• As my opinion, the story is fascinating. And, I have to agree that the "Twilight" vampires aren't really traditional vampires. They don't turn into bats and normally if a vampire stood in the sunlight it would burn. I love Twilight, though. I'm glad the movie looks promising...

Week 4 : Task 1- Is There Life on a Mars?

I listened 20 minutes.
Is there life beyond the Earth? To find out we might look no further planet next door. Mars maybe the best hope for resolving the ultimate mystery of creation. It is the one planet out of there , has more in common like enough we can imagine with our world than any place of Universe. Mars has some dark secret. Around 4 billion years ago cataclysm event, two young planets emerged both brimming with promise. Peter Smith has been involved 7 missions on the Mars.
1999- POLLO lander about it touch-down on a surface. His team waited for a signal. The POLLO lander disappeared. After the POLLO, NASA canceled the mission. He felt apart. Smith did not give up. His plane to take technology from those fail Mission and reproposed for another lander. Every incoushen will be taken to make sure that this one would make it. Another lander was , it was Phoenix like the golf across to solar sistem.
9 month later (May 25, 2008) if land it Phoenix would be thank to the engineering today who made it happened . But no one knew better than Smith what could go wrong. Time already running out. This is 39 time we tried to reach Mars, the 7 th time they actually landed.
2004, NASA put a vichle on a ground.They were equipped with a sophisticated biology experiment designed to search for microbial life on Mars. It would take a sample of the Martian soil, and then expose it to chemicals that would feed an microbial life in the soil. Some gases were emitted, but most scientists now think that the results can be explained by purely chemical processes.On Earth, wherever there's water, scientists find life; deep underground, under rocks in Antarctica, or inside nuclear reactor tanks. Life always finds a way. And so, the search for life on Mars will involve the search for water.They're hoping to find evidence of organic molecules in the ice, and further clinch the possibility that the raw ingredients for life are on Mars.

I chose this topic because i was wondering is there any life on a Mars? But right now, there's no conclusive evidence of life on Mars, either today, or in the past. Let's hope that changes in the next few years.

-In the United states, Independence Day knows as the Fourth of July,

-People usually decorate themself; red, blue and white, the colors of American flag.

Hello. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Lidiya. I was born in Tajikistan then my parents moved to Russia. I have duel citizenship. I live with roommates in three bedroom apartment. When I return I can find work in International Organization like my friends. They really like their work, they have been traveled around the world. Also, they have a good salary. It will be a good opportunity for me. I really want to speak in English without any accent. It was my mother's dream. That is why I want to learn the English language even more.
Many people who wanted to study in USA could not get visa, it is a big problem in my country to get visa. And I am here, right now I am writing this latter :)
My expectation of the country were different. Seattle is such a green city. All these trees, parks, mountains remind me my contry. I like the fact that Seattle is not pretty big not pretty small city.
Perhaps my problem is here is the lack of my family, I miss them so much. Despite that i writing e-mails or calling to them, it is not enough. I hope i will see my family as soon as possible.
